Wildlife Sampling
- Give a brief description of the project. It is a study of the migration patterns for the Idaho salmon and how the population is affected by the power producing dams.
- How would you adapt it for your grade level and/or discipline area? Mrs. Young did a good job on explaining the migration of the salmon and also using her class to interact with. The power point appeared more graph looking and I would probably adapt by adding photo’s of salmon and various rivers. I think visual learning is huge. I feel by adding a visual touch, it will keep the students more engaged.
- In other words, how would you change the lesson to fit your students’ needs? One way I would change the lesson plan is take the kids on a field trip to the river so they get out of the classroom. I feel this would create a true connection with the spawning of the salmon and the Idaho rivers.
